Welcome to our Nursery

Mrs Burrell (HLTA), Mrs Bexton (Nursery Nurse),
Miss Kelly (Teaching Assistant), Miss Sherlock (Nursery Nurse),
Miss Gillgrass (Teaching Assistant), and Miss Coates (SENTA)
Our first topic this year was 'Who is in my family?'.
We will be discussing our families, and who we live with. We will be creating self-portraits to display in nursery, role-playing in the house area and looking at similarities and differences between us and our friends.
We are reading the books -
'Harry and The Dinosaurs Go To School'
'Peace At Last'
'Guess How Much I Love You'
'The Enormous Turnip'
Goldilocks and The Three Bears'
and 'Room On The Broom'.
We are learning the songs;
Tidy up time, If You're Happy and You Know It, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Make a Face, Dingle Dangle Scarecrow, and Big Red Tractor.
Alongside many traditional nursery rhymes.

Things to look out for this term

In nursery we have a Curiosity Box which during the year has a variety of different items in for the children to look at, and wonder about. These items will be things the children may not have seen before and we will be asking them the questions “I wonder what it is? I wonder what it does” and recording their answers.
In Autumn 1 are currently exploring a disposable camera.
